Si è svolto venerdì scorso, nella sede di Fratelli d’Italia Civitavecchia, un convegno molto partecipato dedicato al tema delle “Marocchinate”, le violenze commesse nel 1944 da reparti nordafricani aggregati all’esercito francese.
La sala, gremita di cittadini e giovani delle realtà giovanili del centrodestra, ha seguito con attenzione la presentazione del libro “Non solo la Ciociara” del ricercatore storico e giornalista Silvano Olmi, recentemente ristampato.
Durante l’incontro Olmi ha illustrato nuove ricerche condotte dall’Associazione Nazionale Vittime delle Marocchinate negli Archivi di Stato, rivelando un dato particolarmente doloroso per la città: anche tre donne di Civitavecchia risultano tra le vittime delle violenze, e una di loro non sopravvisse all’aggressione.
L’iniziativa, promossa dal responsabile Cultura di Fratelli d’Italia Francesco Ribezzo e dal coordinatore cittadino Paolo Iarlori, ha voluto riportare l’attenzione su una pagina drammatica della storia italiana, spesso ignorata o sottovalutata.
Secondo le stime più accreditate, sarebbero circa 60.000 gli italiani colpiti dalle marocchinate, tra cui donne, uomini, religiosi e perfino bambini.
Nel suo intervento conclusivo, Iarlori ha ribadito l’impegno del partito nel sostenere percorsi di memoria e approfondimento storico, ricordando la proposta di legge
– a prima firma del senatore Andrea De Priamo – per istituire il Giorno del Ricordo delle Vittime delle Marocchinate il 18 maggio e per valorizzare questa memoria anche nella toponomastica cittadina.
L’incontro si è chiuso con un richiamo condiviso all’importanza di custodire ogni pagina della storia nazionale, anche la più dolorosa, affinché la memoria possa essere realmente completa e capace di educare le generazioni future.
